Liz here. First I’d like to say a big thanks to all who 70 of you who viewed our first ever post! I can’t tell you how excited we were to open our blog tonight and see that number!

I’m sure you’re wondering, “what could she possible talk about today?” Well, let me leave you to wonder no longer!

We decided today who’s going to watch our house. Well, at least the offer was made to a wonderful family. We are just waiting to hear back from them whether they’d like to stay in our house or not. (Of course, we didn’t warn them about the skunks, the funky plumbing, or the vertical climb to the bedrooms.) We just asked if they’d like a little extra space for 6 weeks. 😉

We’re going back and forth on the dog. See, Ism is convinced Bologna will LOVE the trip. I am concerned we’re going to end up leaving him in a shelter somewhere in the continental US. in case you’re ever in a similar situation I’d like to refer you to a very interesting site: DogFriendly.com. This site lists everything from beaches for dogs to dog-friendly outdoor dining. I also found this “How to Travel with Your Dog” article on About.com.

We’re still up in the air on this matter. We’re definitely bringing the kids, but the dog?!? What do you think? Would Bologna rather stay in our home with friends or ride with us across America?

Yea, that can be difficult. Leaving the pup. Leaving him in a shelter would be horrible though! You’ll have your hands full enough with your short bus load of children that you have. Add a pup that could either get car sick, run away or be anxious all the time might not be too much fun for him. My opinion!

You’re taking 7 kids, might as well take a dog! I think it would be fun. Just be careful what he eats, once we had a dog throwup in the car.

well once you get in those hotter states it might be hard for him to travel. If you stop to eat and he is not allowed in , he will be very hot. Might be safer for him to stay home with the house sitters . food for thought !
